1. Where are these horses coming from?
These horses are all coming off of the Yakima Indian Reservation in Washington state. They are under tribal jurisdiction and are being sold to slaughter by individuals within the tribe.
The horses are being round-up and sold to a Washington feedlot. They are purchased for slaughter. All horses except for the foals will be shipped to slaughter. Foals cannot be shipped for slaughter due to their size.
2. How old are the foals?
Our Yakimas range from 3 to 6 months.
3.How do I apply to foster or adopt?
You can start by emailing us requesting a foster or adoption application. All approved fosters and adopters will need to sign a contract.
Orphaned foals do best in pairs. They need the constant companionship they would normally receive with their mothers. We will only adopt out single foals in special circumstances.
